Western Australian born textile artist Jennifer Gaye draws inspiration through conversation and observation from natures depth of character. From the ocean to the sky reflecting relationships between the natural and urban world. Jennifer allows her textile art to speak of her true passions through the many processes that create an effortless image of peace and cycles of life. Through experimentation, her own processes and techniques, Jennifer Gaye introduces these inspirations to cloth through her collage textile work. Each process Jennifer uses machine and hand stitch, applying shades of subtleness and luminous colour, pattern and textiles like the stroke of a brush, then capturing movement through the lens of her camera like the flight of freedom. When all seems complete, Jennifer will work back on the piece created, reconnecting the cycle and the artistic conversation.
