Mel Dare

Mel Dare explores how meaning is constructed within individual subjectivity through painting and drawing. Since graduating with Honours, Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) in 1999 she has shown 12 solo exhibitions and participated in 3 duo and numerous group shows and awards. Her work is part of many private and public national and international collections.

Mel has been a member of Gotham Studios since 2008. She has participated in 3 residencies at Arteles Creative Center, Finland; PICA and MAC. She has taught art in prisons, Tafe, Curtin University, and various public and private organisations.
