Mikaela Castledine is an award winning artist and published writer, with a BSc in Applied Science and an MA in Writing and Literature. She has been a professional artist for nearly 30 years, working in collage and sculpture. She was born in the Western Australian wheat-belt and grew up in the Perth hills, returning there with her own family in the early 2000’s. She is best known for her crochet sculptures exploring our connections to animals and religious architecture across cultures. Mikaela’s work Airlift I was the winner of the Highly Commended award at Fine Art @Hale 2017.
