Originally from Switzerland, Ernst Schneider is a self-taught sculptor. Using recycled materials, his work is an experiment in form and aesthetics that encompasses a large range of approaches and unusual outcomes. The use of both power and hand tools allows Ernst to create elongated and distorted figures with contrasting surface textures and finishes that display the natural beauty and versatility of wood. Most of his work conveys the synthesis between the figurative and the abstract and the real and imaginary. He aims to create unforgettable work that is aesthetically beautiful and one-of-a-kind.
