Western Australian born textile artist Jennifer Gaye draws inspiration through conversation with and observation of nature’s depth of character. From the ocean to the sky, reflecting relationships between the natural and urban world, Jennifer allows her textile art to speak of her true passions. Through experimentation, using her own processes and techniques, Jennifer introduces these inspirations to cloth through her collage textile work. Jennifer uses machine and hand stitch, applying shades of subtleness and luminous colour, pattern and textiles like the stroke of a brush, then captures movement through the lens of her camera. When all seems complete, Jennifer will work back on the piece created, reconnecting the cycle and the artistic conversation.
