Lauren Kennedy

Lauren completed her degree in Visual Arts and Contemporary Fashion at ECU in 2012. She worked in the textiles industry until 2016, when she began her career as a full-time artist. Living in Geraldton, her practice is informed and expanded by field trips to remote areas such as the MacDonnell Ranges, Kalbarri National Park and the Pilbara. An expressive action painter, Lauren reveals her infatuation with the Australian landscape by immersing and responding to her immediate surroundings. She uses bold gestural marks which are shaken up by the wild outdoor elements, infusing her final pieces with lively, untamed energy.
