Nellie Crawford grew up on a small farm in the jarrah and karri forest country near Donnelly River Mill. She now lives and works in Fremantle. She has painted full time since the nineties, following the long tradition of the still life genre which celebrates the timeless nature of our interior worlds. Working with oil on canvas, she depicts natural light shining on tabletops, bowls and bottles, the bloom on freshly picked fruit and and the patina of well-worn vessels to create paintings which convey a sense of harmony and balance.
