About Aaron Moore

Aaron’s ceramic work closely resembles the rock formations of Western Australia. His popular Gorge ‘chawans’ (a Chinese term meaning ‘tea bowl’) provide an opportunity to drink coffee from the lip of a uniquely carved sculpture, an example of how fine art can hold a functional purpose in our everyday lives. His practice employs the Japanese technique of kurinuki, which requires the cutting and tearing of clay to form textured vessels. Aaron studied at the National Art School in Sydney, and earned a Master in Refugee Studies from Oxford and a Master in Fine Arts from UNSW.
