Anita Phillips is a Western Australian visual artist with an appreciation and respect for ‘place’. She looks to experience and paint landscapes of isolated, challenging and solitary beauty. Raised on a farm in the Wheatbelt, many of Anita’s works are grounded in her love of the big skies, long horizons and harsh weather of Australia. Anita works mainly in oils, on canvas and panel. Travel to remote locations and plein air painting have become increasingly significant aspects of her process and continue to inform her studio work.
