Born in Turkey, Beste Ogan is a ceramic artist based in South Fremantle. Working primarily in slipcast porcelain and specialising in marbling, Beste’s practice spans functional wares and sculptural objects, united by a focus on tactility and organic forms. Her work draws on the textures and tones of her Aegean upbringing, translating organic forms into contemporary ceramic pieces that invite touch and contemplation and bring joy to everyday rituals. Her recent sculptural work pushes the boundaries of traditional slipcasting, transforming a process rooted in repetition into a vehicle for expressive, one-of-a-kind forms.
