Dorothy Davies was born in Perth and currently lives in the southwest of Western Australia. She trained in graphic design at Curtin University and has lived and worked around the world. Dorothy has long had an interest in still life painting as a metaphor for life. Working in oils – the the traditional medium for still life – her paintings capture both time and beauty; flowers and fruit depict the notion of beauty at its peak with the knowledge that this is transient.
