Born in Perth, Pene Turner is a multi-disciplinary artist now living and working from her beautiful studio space in the hills’ town of Glen Forrest. Alongside her woodwork practice, she works with merino wool, layered with various silks, to create richly textured, needle-felted landscapes. Inspired by holiday destinations across Western Australia, her framed works capture the shifting moods of each place, from deep coastal blues to the rich reds of the inland. Her practice reflects a deep love of her nature-filled lifestyle.
