Shana James is an award-winning Western Australian printmaker and artist with a life-long interest in visual storytelling and 30 years experience making and exhibiting. Shana is fascinated by stories, fairy tales, poetry, dreams and the natural world, and her artwork represents humans and animals alive and active in unexpected, fantastic surroundings. In her work, she often responds to a text, presenting a poetic interpretation of contemporary life. The mundane is juxtaposed with the meaningful, reminding us of the mystery and wonder which is present in even the most ordinary life.
