Originally from England, Sue Smorthwaite is a felt textile artist now living in Yallingup. Largely self-taught, Sue is excited by the huge potential for handmade wool felt as an artistic medium. Her inspiration comes mainly from nature and objects around her, but pattern and colour are also important features in her work. She continues to explore new techniques and ways of combining found objects into her textile work, presenting wet felting as a fine art form to a modern audience.
