ELIGIBILITY

• Participation is by invitation only from the Fine Art@Hale Committee.
• Artists must be 18 years or older as of 31 May 2026 and reside in Western Australia.
• Artworks must be available for sale exclusively by Fine Art@Hale for the full duration of the physical and online exhibitions (from 5 – 12 June 2026).

 
ARTWORK

• All artworks must have been produced within the last two (2) years, and not previously publicly exhibited. The Committee reserves the right to make exceptions at its discretion.  
• All artworks must be the original work of the artist. Fine Art@Hale does not accept open edition prints nor artworks that are reproduced digitally and sold in multiple formats. Limited edition prints are welcome and should be noted as such on the entry form. 
• All artworks submitted for exhibition will be displayed at the absolute discretion of the Committee.   

ENTRY LIMITS 

• The total number of entries permitted per artist is:
  •  Paintings, 2D artworks and textile hangings:
    • three (3) works  
  • Prints:
    • three (3) prints with a maximum of three (3) editions of each print (a total of 9 works)

• • Ceramics, glass, sculptures, textiles (ie: scarves or 3D textiles):
    • six (6) works  

• • Jewellery:
    • up to ten (10) items in total  

• For artists who submit across more than one category, the total number of artworks should not exceed the highest single category total (ie: maximum of 6 artworks for combined 2D and 3D entries).

ARTWORK SIZE

• Paintings and prints should not exceed 100cm high x 120cm wide, including frame. This restriction reflects the size of the display boards used in Memorial Hall. At the Committee’s discretion, 2D artists may be permitted to exhibit one larger piece. These must be presented to the Committee for approval via email to hale.art@live.com.  

ONLINE ENTRY FORM

• The online entry form is password protected and sent via email to invited artists.
• It will be OPEN from Friday 24 April 2026 to Friday 15 May 2026. The form must be completed online and in full, together with images of ALL artworks being submitted for consideration.  
• Quality images of artworks are the responsibility of the exhibiting artist and must abide by the following guidelines:
  • JPEG format (max file size 128MB)
  • Image files named with the artwork title and photographer’s credit (if not the artist)  
  • Framed artworks must include the frame in the image (or a second image should be emailed with the frame showing).  
• Artists grant Fine Art@Hale permission to use whole or cropped images of their artworks for promotional and educational purposes in print and online. Images will be credited with the artist’s name; title of work; year and photo credit. Use of images for promotion is not guaranteed.
• ALL entries must include artwork dimensions, including those for 3D, jewellery and textile artworks.
• Printmakers must list each work in an edition separately on the entry form, noting edition number and whether the artwork is framed or unframed.
• Any substitution or withdrawal of artworks must be requested no later than 22 May 2026. Approval to substitute artworks will be at the Committee’s absolute discretion. Please notify the Committee of any changes via email to hale.art@live.com. 
• All artworks accepted as of 22 May 2026 will be included in the catalogue and must be available for exhibition. 
• All artists must provide Fine Art@Hale with either:
  • an ABN, or
  • a Statement by a Supplier confirming they are not required to quote an ABN.
• The Statement by a Supplier provides a declaration that an artist does not have to quote an ABN because the activity is a private recreational pursuit or hobby. To access a copy of this form, please click HERE.
• Returning artists are only required to provide the Statement again if any details have changed.

 

ARTWORK DELIVERY

Date: Saturday 30 May 2026

Time: 8:30am – 1:00pm

Location: Memorial Hall, Hale School

• Artists are responsible for both the delivery and the collection of their unsold artworks. 
• Artists must sign on delivery to confirm the details of their artworks in the catalogue.  
• All artworks must be finished and ready to display. 2D artworks must be dry and ready to hang by D-rings or wire.
• Framed prints intended for display should be delivered to the exhibition as above. Unframed prints available for sale are to be retained by the artist and delivered to the purchaser according to the delivery of ONLINE purchases outlined below.  

• The Committee reserves the right to not display artworks which fail to meet a satisfactory standard of presentation or are deemed to be offensive or otherwise inappropriate in a school environment.  
• Hale School and its insurer will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by or to the artist, delivery person or artworks during transport to and from the exhibition venue. The artist hereby indemnifies Hale School and the Committee to the fullest extent possible against any claims made as a result of transport or delivery of the artworks. 
• The artist warrants that they retain title of their artworks and indemnifies Hale School and the Committee in full for any costs and/or expenses incurred as a result of any claims regarding title of the works.   

 

ARTWORK AWARDS

The following Artist Awards are offered at Fine Art@Hale:

Best Artwork Award: $2000

Best Emerging Artist Award: $500

Brine House Award (acquisitive award)

People’s Choice Award

 
SALE OF ARTWORK

• Artists consent to the physical exhibition and sale of their artworks (from 5 to 7 June 2026) and the online sale of their artworks (from 6 to 12 June 2026) for the price nominated on the entry form. 
• Payments will be processed via EFTPOS or on the Fine Art@Hale website via SecurePay.
• All sales are final. Purchasers will not be permitted to receive a refund or return for change of mind.  
• Any change to the sale price or the terms of sale will be communicated to the artist at least 24 hours prior to the exhibition, and the artist may accept, refuse or vary those terms.

COLLECTION AND DELIVERY OF ARTWORK

Collection from the weekend exhibition

• Purchasers will collect their artworks from Memorial Hall on Sunday 7 June between 4.30pm – 6.00pm.  
• Artists should collect any unsold artworks from Memorial Hall on Sunday 7 June between 5.00pm – 6.00pm. 

Online sales and delivery

• For online sales after the exhibition closes, artists assume full responsibility for arranging delivery of artworks within two (2) weeks of the sale.
• Artists will be notified of online sales and purchaser details within 48 hours of the purchase.
• At the point of sale, purchasers agree to reimburse reasonable delivery costs. Wherever possible, artists are encouraged to arrange delivery or collection in person.  
• All freight and insurance costs for the delivery of artworks are at the discretion and responsibility of the artist.  
• Fine Art@Hale provides no insurance for artworks at any point during the time of the online exhibition or during the delivery of artwork purchases.

PAYMENT

• The Committee retains a thirty percent (30%) commission (inclusive of GST) on all artwork sales.  
• Artists will receive payment of the balance of the sale price less this commission. Payment will be made to the bank account nominated by the artist on the entry form.
• Payment will be made within 28 days after the close of the online exhibition (by Friday 10 July 2026).
