Jacek Gonsalves

Born in Kuwait and of Goan heritage, Jacek Gonsalves moved to Perth in 1990. He has always been drawn to fine art processes and studying the techniques of different artists and craftspeople. He has worked with a range of media but recently settled on the traditional photographic technique called cyanotype. This handmade process produces a continuous tone of Prussian blue. Guided by the elemental forces of light and shadow, Jacek harnesses the transformative power of cyanotype to create hauntingly beautiful images of botanical detail. Endlessly inspired by nature, he strives to capture its essence through the lens of the cyanotype process.
