Mark Tweedie has been an exhibiting artist since 2012. His work is characterised by themes of memory, connection to place and lineage. Photography underlies his painting practice, paying homage to the enduring medium’s emotive aesthetics whilst recontextualising imagery to create new and often imagined narratives. Mark has undertaken significant residencies in regional Western Australia, driven by a longing for home that has deepened with age, relating to his childhood in the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions.
